Tet gifts presented to policy beneficiaries and workers in Dong Nai and HCMC

Politburo member and Head of the Party Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong presented 40 gift packages worth VND3 million each to families of policy beneficiaries in Long Thanh and Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province on February 4, in advance of the upcoming Tet (lunar New Year) holiday.

According to the provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation, up to 650 Tet gifts worth nearly VND600 million have been delivered to policy beneficiaries, poor households and disadvantaged people thanks to funding from local businesses and benefactors in the locality.

A wide range of activities have also been held to care for needy people and to ensure a happy Tet holiday for every citizen and family in the province.

Meanwhile in Ho Chi Minh City, over 420,000 gift packages valued at around VND200 billion have been presented to local workers and employees, according to Vice Chairman of the municipal Federation of Labour Pham Chi Tam.

The City Federation of Labour also paid visits to convey Tet greetings and present gifts to outstanding local enterprises who have not only fulfilled their responsibilities in social insurance and taxation but also ensured the livelihoods of their employees.

A number of trade fairs have been organised to help workers shop for sought-after items for Tet, such as clothing, food, pharmaceuticals, beauty products and electronics, with discounts ranging from 10 to 50%.

In addition, approximately 43,000 free train and air tickets have been provided to migrant workers in need, to help them to return home for Tet holiday.
